software engineer, project manager, blogger, aspiring writer and visual artist.
Hi I'm Arvin! I'm a software engineer on weekdays, a philosopher [inside a bus] on weeknights, a visual artist on weekend mornings, a writer on weekend nights, a singer in the shower, a comedian (when I feel like it) and a full-time half geek. (To claim full fledged geekiness will be presumptuous.) Apparently, I'm into a lot of things be it movies, music, literature, art in traditional media, writing, and of course programming.
I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science in the University of the Philippines, Manila under the Health Informatics track. I worked on quite a lot of projects as a student like an information system for diabetes patients, a protein structure modeler, and a system simulating learning of feedforward artificial neural networks to name a few.
But those weren't the real thing yet. When I joined the IT industry, I was able to work on more exciting projects starting with a banking solution for a top bank here in the Philippines. Then I worked with a mobile applications development team as the all around API guy. From there I moved on to working for an international banking solution provider until I decided to get myself immersed in the local startup scene and became both a software engineer and a project manager. Check out my projects below.
